Stuck for healthy homemade recipes? 

Need some motivation for the Winter days? 

Pilates specialist Laura Hall's is renowned for her blogs on workouts, inspiration and, her mouth-watering, yummy recipes! So we thought we would pick her brain, and ask her about her favourite healthy breakfast, lunch and dinner meals.

1. Breakfast Smoothie BOWL: 

"Blend the following in a Nutribullet:"
  • 1 whole frozen banana
  • 1 cup of spinach
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon of cacao powder
  • 1 tablespoon of chia seeds
  • 1 teaspoon of almond butter
  • 1 teaspoon of MCT oil
    (optional - but good for a health kick if you can stand the taste)

Suggested added toppings:  cacao nibs and coconut flakes for texture

2. Lunch:

"Lunch is always super quick and easy. I combine:"
  • 2 cups of spinach
  • 1 cup of turmeric sauerkraut
  • 5 cherry tomatoes,
  • 1 cup of chopped cauliflower
  • 1/2 an avocado
  • 1 cup of green beans
  • Fresh fillet of salmon or tuna

Suggested added toppings: Activated almonds

3. Dinner:

"Dinner is often super simple and healthy, like a healthy veggie bowl! I like to combine:"
  • 1 roasted chicken breast
  • 1.5 cups of brown rice
  • 1 cup of roasted sweet potato
  • 1 cup of sliced kale chips
  • 1 cup of broccoli.
  • Drizzled organic olive oil with a sprinkle of Himalayan sea salt

Why resistance train?

Resistance training is crucial to maintaining a proper fitness routine. Your muscles will waste away without it. Once you’ve hit your twenties, muscle loss increases rapidly unless you work to maintain or build it. if you don’t use it, you lose it.

Only a few weeks off resistance training can cause muscle loss (if you’ve ever broken a bone you would already know this!).
