We caught up with stunning young athlete Chelsea Holden to pick her brain about the drive, advice, motivation, and fitness!
Lifestyle changes and their success are usually measured by how you look, but the biggest motivator for me has always been how it makes me feel. If I'm training hard, eating smart, sleeping well, and overall feeling like the best version of me, then why not keep going?
JUST START! As cliche as it sounds, there is no better time than right now. Instead of setting a specific date of when to start making changes, you should start with making small changes immediately. Have a cup of water after your morning coffee, or extend that 30 mins stroll into an hour-long walk. It's the little changes and working on these improvements that make a big difference in the long run.
Currently, I'm working with an injury to my hip, so I'm looking to Alexa Towersey (@actionalexa) for guidance and motivation on how to rehab and improve training methods. She has had the same injury plus some, and have been able to follow her journey to recovery through educational and realistic relatable content has been extremely inspiring, to say the least.
For the peach, what's always worked for me are sumo deadlifts. Walking lunges are a killer for the thighs. With abs, they really are made in the kitchen but don't forget to squeeze and embrace the burn with each contraction. The biggest tip I have for all of them would be to focus on the mind and muscle connection with every single rep in each exercise that you complete.
Ladies, the weather is heating up which means bikini season is just around the corner! There’s already temptations of replacing gym sessions with beach walks. However, giving up resistance training could cause more damage than you think! Why resistance train?
Resistance training is crucial to maintaining a proper fitness routine. Your muscles will waste away without it. Once you’ve hit your twenties, muscle loss increases rapidly unless you work to maintain or build it. if you don’t use it, you lose it.
Only a few weeks off resistance training can cause muscle loss (if you’ve ever broken a bone you would already know this!).

When you know exactly what you want and it is honestly IMPORTANT to you... the motivation comes easy. You won’t make excuses and you’ll find ways to make it happen.
